Thomas C. Hansen, 92, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025.

Thomas was born on November 21st, 1932 in Wayne, Nebraska to Leon and Loella (McGuigan) Hansen. He was united in marriage to Janet Melvin on May 24, 1975 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Thomas served for the United States Air Force in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956. He later attended Creighton University earning his bachelor's degree in education, then attended Northwest Louisiana State University, graduating with his doctorates degree in education. After settling in St. Joseph he was employed by Missouri Western State University working as a education professor for upcoming students going into education for 24 years until retiring.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Janet in 2021. He is survived by his sister-in-law Joan(Larry) Seckels, nieces Stacy Stroble and Lee Seckels, 5 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 30th, 2025 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel at 3609 Frederick Blvd. - St. Joseph, Missouri 64506, officiated by Father Steven Hansen. With inurnment to take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial donations in lieu of floral arrangements are suggest to the food pantry at Cathedral Catholic Church in memory of Thomas Hansen.
