Sharron L. (Owens) Curran, 85, of Savannah, MO, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Butler, MO, on November 2, 1940, to the late Lyle and Margaret (Calvert) Owens.

Sharron graduated from Butler High School in Butler, MO, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education at Northwest Missouri State College. She had a 50-year career in elementary education, teaching first grade in Maryville, MO; Greeley, CO; Dallas, TX; and Amazonia, MO. She later owned and operated the Raggedy Ann and Andy Pre-School located in the Carriage House on the property of the former Jackson Funeral Home, where she was also a licensed funeral director. Sharron later owned and operated the Little Red School located on E Hwy.

Sharron was preceded in death by her husband, Don Curran, on November 30, 2021, and her sister, Maribeth Klindt and her golden retriever, Cora.

She is survived by her daughter; Marcy (Michael) Powell; sons, Rob Jackson and Ray (Anita) Jackson; grandchildren, Lyle and Reed (Samantha) Powell, McKenzie (Garrett) Downey, and Bryson (Amanda) Jackson; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family to receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a charity of the Donor’s Choice in Sharron’s memory.
