ASMUSSEN

Committal services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday September 24, 2025, at 10AM for Robert H. & Rosemary C. Asmussen.

Robert H. Asmussen (1929-2017) was born in Davenport, Iowa and moved, with his family, to St. Joseph in 1949. He was the owner/operator of B&R Auto Service for 30 years. He was a charter member of the Sunrise Optimist Club and a 10-year volunteer with the CASA program.

In 1956 Bob married the former Rosemary C. Hochenauer of St. Joseph.

Rosemary C. Asmussen (1932-2024) was born and raised in St. Joseph. She worked at Quaker Oats for 26 years, retiring in 1995. She had an amazing gift for transforming feelings and observations into the written word as poetry and had three poetry books published. In 2020 she moved to Temple, Texas to be near her surviving daughter.

Bob and Rosemary were the parents of two daughters, Melanie and Stacie. Stacie Oxford passed in 1994 at the age of 35 years. Melanie (Terry) Green survives in Morgans Point Resort, Texas.

Services are under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
