Mary "Mimi" Mildred Weiland passed away peacefully at Gower Convalescent Center on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after a long battle with Dementia/Alzheimer's.

She was born on July, 23, 1943, in St. Joseph, Mo to Michael and Kathryn (Plekan) Gomeck. She attended St. James grade school and graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart. She married James Weiland on October 10, 1964 who proceeded her in death on March 15, 2009. She was employed by Whitaker Cable, Kovac's grocery store and later retired from Quaker Oats. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her.

Mimi's greatest love was her family, especially her grandkids. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved family get-to-gathers, spending time outside with her flower garden, lounging by her pool, shopping (always looking for a bargain), and even the occasional gambling at "The Boat".

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Michael and Katie; Husband, James; and Sister, Betty Rotts.

Survivors include Daughter, Lori (Lonnie) Welter; Son, Jimmy (Amy) Weiland; Granddaughter, Lindsey (Cody) Cherry; Granddaughter, Emma Weiland; Grandson, Gavin Weiland; Sister, Donna Daffon and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Gower Convalescent Center and Fruedenthal Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30 AM on Monday, August 31, 2026 at St. James Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to St. James Church.
