Obituary

Lavelle S. Warren passed peacefully into heaven June 4, 2026, surrounded by his
friends at Oak Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Maryville, Missouri. He was 97
years old.

Lavelle was born November 21, 1928, along with his twin brother, Laverne, to Olen
and Blanche (Hayzlett) Warren on a farm west of Pumpkin Center, Missouri. The
family later moved to a farm on the 102 River near Bolckow, Missouri.

He attended Housman Rural School and was a 1946 graduate and valedictorian of
Bolckow High School. He completed business and English classes at Northwest
Missouri State Teachers College (NWMSU) from 1946-1948, becoming a lifelong
supporter of the Bearcats.

Lavelle married the love of his life, Kathryn Marie Wade, August 7, 1954. Four
months later, the U.S. Army drafted him. He was sent to several posts, ending at
Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, where Kathryn joined him. He was proud to serve his
country as a supply clerk and was grateful for the many lifelong friends he made.
Lavelle and Kathryn returned to Bolckow, where they farmed and raised their four
children to know the Lord as their Savior, blessing them with an idyllic childhood.
Lavelle often quoted Sir John Bowring when describing his family: "A happy family
is but an earlier heaven". Kathryn preceded him in death July 28, 1989.

He married Geraldine (Tipton) Lambright April 23, 2005, at Antioch Christian
Church. They enjoyed a sweet life together, traveling and caring for their beloved
farm animals. Geraldine preceded him in death July 17, 2010.

Lavelle faithfully served the Lord throughout his life, sharing Christian love and
grace. He was a member of the Bolckow United Methodist Church and Antioch
Christian Church, holding several positions, notably church treasurer. He served as
a board member of the Missouri Farmers Association (MFA). He was a longstanding
member of the Savannah Chapter No. 223 Order of the Eastern Star, Savannah
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0287, and the Masonic Lodge.

His greatest joys were being with his family and farming. He loved listening to
music, photography, swimming and diving, playing basketball, reading, and being
informed on all topics. Lavelle's life was marked by his faith, sharing Christ's love
through his humble, kind, and gracious manner. A man of quiet strength, he will
be missed by all who knew him.

Lavelle was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Blanche Warren; his
brother, Laverne Warren; step-daughter, Deborah Lymer; and step-son-in-law, Bill
Hare.

He leaves behind his cherished legacy through his children: Karen (Rob) Quinn,
Helen (Otis) Robinson, James (Marcea) Warren, Diane (Chuck) Samson; his
step-daughters: Marcia (Andrew) Byergo and Trudy (Bob) Hare-Gay;
grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa) Quinn, Jennifer (Brian) Johnston, Jared (Lynn)
Robinson, Adam (Patricia) Robinson, Joel (Rebekah) Robinson, Corban Warren,
