Lana Cheryl Long

Lana Cheryl Long, 80, of Rosendale, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 5th at Mosaic Life Care.

Born on March 16, 1946, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Lana was raised in Whitesville, Missouri where she lived a life filled with love, joy, and an appreciation for the simple pleasures.

A proud graduate of North Andrew R-6 High School in 1964, Lana cherished her roots and the community that shaped her early years. She carried the values instilled in her by her parents, Emma and Valdon Cox, throughout her life. Lana was predeceased by her parents as well as her siblings Jim Cox, Valdean Cox, and Karen Miller (and husband Dan), along with her nephew Wayne Cox.

Lana shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband Bobby Long. They were married on January 16, 1969 and shared fifty-seven years of marriage. Together they built a family that became the center of her world. She was a loving mother to Jeremy Long and Laurie Long and a proud grandmother to Austin and Ashley Sanderson; Jacob and Jaleesa Long; Kyrsten, Cadence, Kyndra, Kyerra, and Kyianna Thomas; also, to her nieces, Sharon Peek and Lenora Miller. Her legacy continues through her great-grandson Alexander Thomas. Lana’s family brought immense joy to her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Known for her kind heart and playful spirit, Lana had a deep love for the outdoors and all animals. Whether it was tending to her yard or enjoying time mowing under the sun, she found happiness in nature's beauty. She embraced life’s little joys with gratitude and grace.

Lana’s warmth extended beyond her family; she was a friend to everyone who crossed her path. Her genuine kindness left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

May Lana Cheryl Long’s memory be a source of comfort to all who loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by many.
