Obituary

Gina Alexander Eaton, 60, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 4, 2026.

Gina was born on January 27, 1966, at Sisters Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Bernard Joseph Alexander and Karen Ann Mears.

A hardworking and determined woman, Gina fulfilled her dream of becoming a business owner when she founded Tiger Transportation at the age of 30. She was also a proud former president of the Glass Express Corvette Club, where she built lasting friendships through her love of Corvettes and the community surrounding them.

More than anything, Gina will be remembered for the joy she brought to those around her. She had an infectious sense of humor and could always be counted on to make others laugh. She loved cooking for family and friends, adored her beloved puppy, Mercy, and treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her greatest pride and the light of her life was her son, Bernie.

Gina is lovingly survived by her husband, Michael Eaton; her son, Bernie Eaton, and his longtime girlfriend, Keilah Sanborn; her mother, Karen (Dave) Mears; her stepsons, Everett (Louisa) McDowell and their children; William McDowell and his children; her sister-in-law, Kim (Jim) Alexander-Goehring; her nephew, Jacob (Andrea) Alexander; her niece, Jessica Alexander; Mike’s family, Sabina (Keith) Button, Shelby (Chris) Harvel, and Jeanel (Patrick) Ragan; as well as many other cherished family members and dear friends who will forever miss her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Joseph Alexander; her brother, Stephen Michael Alexander; her great-nephew, Leslie Alexander Gresham; and her grandmother, Grandma A.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gina’s life during a visitation on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Sidenfaden Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to KC Pet Project in Gina’s honor, reflecting her love for animals.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories Gina gave us. Her laughter, kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
