Dorothy Ruth Masteller, of Saint Joseph, MO, born April 22nd, 1938, passed away January 18th, 2025. Dorothy was born in Los Angeles, CA. She lived in Sacramento, CA until the age of 20. She then moved to Forest City, Iowa to attend Waldorf Lutheran College. She graduated with an AA Degree in Parish Secretarial and Business.

Dorothy married Peter Limburg in 1960. She Married John Masteller in March, 1988. John preceded her in death in Feb. 2017. She is survived by her son, Michael Limburg, Ellsworth, KS, and 3 step-children: Bruce, Jefferson City, MO; Janell, Boonville, MO and Brenda (Patrick) of Waynesville, MO.

She is also survived by a cousin, Jurgen, Austria; her very special friends Lavella Hinton, Dian Banks, Robin Rose, Lola Kunkle, Nila Scheinder, Stephanie King and her beloved cat, Kali Kai.

Dorothy was an Office Manager for Catholic Charities of 26 years retiring in Feb. 2007. She continued working part-time as a receptionist until April 2008. Previously, she was employed as Parish Secretary at Hyde Valley United Methodist Church.

Ms. Masteller was a member of First Lutheran Church where she attended the Kionia Sunday School Class and helped deliver communion to shut-ins. She served as Financial Secretary for 10 years. Dorothy also volunteered thru the RSVP Program at Inter/Serv and helped deliver Meals on Wheels.

Dorothy enjoyed gardening, reading, movies, completing on-line surveys and playing with Angel and Kali Kai.

Services will be Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.  Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1:00 pm.  Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church and/or Inter/Serv Meals on Wheels.
