It's the end of an era. Donald "Don" Turner, 85 of Savannah Missouri, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Don was the husband to his wife Joyce for 43 years while they owned and operated the Model Cleaners for 42 years on Main Street and raised their four children. They were a staple of the community whether you needed a laugh, good (or bad) advice, or just get your laundry done.

Don was born in September 1938 in Savannah Missouri to Royal and Bernice (Latham) Turner. He graduated in the class of 1956 from Savannah high school and joined the Army Reserves. He enjoyed working outdoors, watching football, photography and was a talented woodworker. He also enjoyed good food and could make Thanksgiving dinner like nobody else.  He married Joyce Rounds in September 1959, and shared her life before her passing in 2002. Family time was his favorite time.

Don met Sue Collins in 2005 and they shared a wonderful relationship for over 18 years. Sue was a loving partner and a blessing to us all.  Her family loved him as their own.

Don is survived by Sue Collins of the home. He had four children, Brian (Dana) Turner, Angela ( Terry) Trimmer, Barry (Missy)  Turner and Patrick Turner. He has a nine grand children, Ian, Fletcher, and Keaton Turner, Eli and Jett Trimmer, Kaylyn and Jensen Turner and Aidan and Milo Turner along with several nieces and nephews. The most loving siblings, Linda Wilson, Norma (Lee) Wandfluh, RT (Karen) Turner and Byron Sample Jr. He was predeceased by his parents, Royal and Bernice Turner and his younger brother Charles Turner

Thank you to our community for always supporting our family and a special thanks to all who've reached out and shown love for our sweet dad.

Don has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel.  A register book is available for signing at the Chapel.
