David E. Hodge, 86, of Union Star died October 6, 2023, at his home.

Born on the family farm northwest of Union Star on April 3, 1937, he was the son of Cleo and Thelma (Armfield) Hodge. In 1956, he graduated from Union Star High School.

On May 4, 1974 he married Rose Gronniger. He was a member of the Union Star United Methodist Church. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and later delivered papers for the St. Joseph News-Press.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Marvin Hodge. Survivors include his wife, Rose, of the home; children, Richard Hodge and Sandra Neff, both of Reno, NV; sister, Joyce Hodge of Montana and several nieces and nephews.

He has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Services will be held later.
