Betty Jo
Grimm
Mar 19, 1937 — Sep 23, 2024
St. Joseph
Betty Grimm
Born: March 19, 1937
Went Home: September 23, 2024
Betty had many roles in her life, and she could be counted on to do her best at each of them. She was a loving sister, daughter, and grandmother. She was a devoted friend, employee, and co-worker. The role we believe she excelled most at was MOM. Mom had an extremely kind heart. She was devout in her Catholic beliefs and prayed for her family constantly. The Lord only knows where we would be if it were not for the prayers of our Mom.
Some things we remember about Mom:
She loved sports, all sports, but particularly football, and much to the dismay of most of us, she loved the Dallas Cowboys. We certainly tried to change that but were never able to get it accomplished.
She supported her children in anything we were active in. Mom was our biggest fan and cheerleader. I know there are some Benton fans out there that can still hear her, she could be heard over fans, bands, cheerleaders, and even coaches. She was loud, she had a megaphone and a cowbell, not that she needed the help, but she used them faithfully anyway.
Mom was never a person to give up or complain about her circumstances. She would just work to change them, and nothing was beneath her. She always worked if she did not have a 9 to 5 job, she would take in laundry and ironing so her family would have necessities or what was needed for uniforms, shoes, clothes, etc. Things that, at the time, we took for granted. Mom worked until she was 83. She was at Caring First Preschool and loved it. She would be there early in the morning when the children arrived, and she got so much joy from them. If it weren't for 2020 and Covid forcing her to leave she would have continued.
There are many other things about our Mom like, her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her cooking, her sense of humor, her loyalty to family and friends, how our house was always open to anyone….We are thankful that we were able to call her MOM.
We are also thankful that she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because we know she is with Him now, and we will have the opportunity to see her again. Mom did not live an "easy" life, but she did live a full life. We will miss having time with her.
Love you, Mom.
Janora, Merle, Brian, and Dawn
